Tony Thompson - Energy Healing
I graduated from Bristol University in 1975 with a B.Sc (Hons) in Psychology, then trained as a teacher. I taught children with a range of behavioural, emotional, and physical problems in South London, first in special schools, then as a tutor working with children out of school while I played in bands and got heavily involved in writing and recording music (I have been working as a musician, writing, recording and teaching studio techniques for the last few years). I first met a healer in 1987 when working with a teenage boy dying of cancer. Not so long afterwards I found that I too could give healing.
So - what's a Healer? Healers are people who can access energy from outside themselves and channel it to the energy system of someone else who needs it. That person's energy system then can use it to help restore flow and balance.
I have been able to devote increasing time to developing this side of myself in the last four years and feel the time is right to offer my services more widely. I have done courses in mainstream spiritual healing and am a Level II practitioner of the Japanese healing art of Reiki.
I use a range of techniques and understandings in my work. In the last year I have led healing meditation groups and workshops.I am a practitioner member of the UK Reiki Federation.
I have been giving healing to people with a range of conditions from headaches and stress to someone waiting for hip replacement surgery. I haven't come across anyone yet whom it hasn't helped. It is important to remember that healing doesn't work directly on the physical body - it works on the person's Energy System and from there the benefit works through to the physical condition. This can take days to show itself, though symptoms such as headaches may well go quickly.
Following on from that, it's also important to remember that Healing Is Not Curing. Healing implies, not going back to some mythical perfect state, but growth and moving on.
